Oh Happy Day!
It’s a beautiful day! Not just because the sun is shining in its gorgeous glory; or because I’m wearing the cutest earrings and my ankara skirt 😉 ; or because it’s a Sunday; or because I’m in a good mood… It’s because today, I (along with majority of the world) am celebrating Easter. There is a little difference though. I’m not celebrating just the fact that it’s a four-day weekend, or that I get to hang out with friends and do fun things like egg hunts. For me, it’s more than cute rabbits and chocolate eggs (I don’t even get how those came into the picture). It’s all about Jesus! Join the celebration
Life Music Montage
If you have already seen my Music Haul post, you will know how much I love Jonathan McReynolds’ music. Life music, his debut album, (which I heard for the first time last month) is the best album I have heard in my life so far. The idea to do this video struck me one random day, and I filmed and sang it bits. I wanted … Continue reading Life Music Montage
Boy Vs Girl: Make-Up
*I wrote this in May 2012, but made the video just this week (after the train incident which I talk about in the video). It came as a sort of shock. But not like a sharp-intake-of-breath, ground-breaking shock; more like a fuzzy-vision-cleared shock. A mild shock. I was thinking about how eyeliner defines the eyes. I cannot really recollect how my train of thoughts … Continue reading Boy Vs Girl: Make-Up
Lean Machine
Lately, I have been eating like there is no tomorrow; as if food is going out of fashion- and it’s telling in all the wrong places! I have been trying to get myself back on track: managing my portions, cutting down, and I started running again. You can say I caught a fitness bug from my dad, who for the past seven (possibly more) years … Continue reading Lean Machine
Spring must be here!
At least the trees say so! This is nothing but a thanksgiving post. After last winter, I moved to England expecting the worst for 2013 winter. The 2012 (English) winter was exquisite, I’ve never seen snow so stunning, simply divine. But it was cold!!! Cold and I really aren’t great friends; I’m more of a fun-in-the-sun person (even if that sun is scorching). The worst … Continue reading Spring must be here!
My One, True Love Doesn’t Have Facebook
I want to be loved; but that’s not all. I want the whole world to know that I am loved. I want Facebook statuses dedicated to me. I want Instagram posts of cute pictures of me with captions declaring undying love. I also want tweets, lots of them, with my Twitter handle and the word ‘love’ combined in the most succinct, poetic ways. I deserve … Continue reading My One, True Love Doesn’t Have Facebook
The Punk ‘Fro
Here’s what I think is a very interesting look for your ‘nappy’ hair. I had fun with it. I was inspired by the mo-hawk (aka ‘fro-hawk), and the male punk cut. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVhrYurKTK4 Easy peasy! Have fun with it! xoxo Continue reading The Punk ‘Fro
Music “Haul”!!!
I’m using a popular blogger term for one of my biggest discoveries this year (I know the year is early yet; and if you already know him l know I’m a bit stale): JONATHAN McREYNOLDS http://www.jonathanmcreynolds.com/ It’s a haul because after I stumbled upon two of his videos on YouTube, you can believe I went on my phone and bought (in case you missed the … Continue reading Music “Haul”!!!
Are we going to sit by and watch?
I have just randomly come across this article by a professor in my school. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that this relatively young white man had recently written about Boko Haram. Of course, I lapped up every single word of the article. And afterward? My heart bled. Here it is: http://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/comment/articles/2014-02/04-/boko-haram-nigeria-islamic-terrorists My heart wept for the thousands of lives lost, stories that were not … Continue reading Are we going to sit by and watch?
Contemplating Jesus
The video pretty much says it all: Inspired by my thoughts, I decided to harmonise this popular song: Continue reading Contemplating Jesus
